POSITION SUMMARY:
This position assumes primary responsibility for the certification/licensure process regarding applicants for professional certification/licensure and applicants for renewal of certification/licensure for the Fiduciary Program, Legal Document Preparer Program, and Certified Reporter Program within the Certification and Licensing Division.

This position will be responsible for conducting the investigative background process regarding applicants for initial certification/licensure and renewal of certification/licensure. Review and analyze applications for initial and renewal certification/licensure, develop recommendations to the applicable program Board or Committee, and initiate, prepare, and issue requests to applicants for further disclosure or clarification.

This position will also testify at hearings regarding recommendations for denial of initial or renewal certification/licensure, interview applicants regarding their application, and train staff on the investigative process.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid-telework schedule once the employee has completed three (3) months of employment and has sufficiently proved their ability to perform assigned tasks.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience in the judicial or legal systems or as an investigator for a regulatory agency. Directly related experience may substitute for the degree. This position requires skill in production of timely and accurate reports and documentation regarding applications, and effective written and oral business communication skills, including interviewing techniques. This position also requires the ability to work independently and utilize good judgment and analytical skills in stressful and sensitive situations, organize and prioritize several concurrent projects, and work effectively with applicants, judicial officers, staff, attorneys, and the public.

The preferred candidates will have experience and knowledge of professional licensing and document examination procedures and be accredited as a certified investigator with the Council on Licensure, Enforcement and Regulation, or similar organization.

SELECTION PROCESS:
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Only applicants whose backgrounds most closely meet the needs of the position may be invited to interview and/or participate in the testing process. The Selection Process may include computer testing (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, proofreading, typing, etc.) and first and/or second round panel interviews. This is a Regular, Full-time, Exempt level position.
