Your Impact
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Perform complex design tasks and drawings using computer-aided design (CADD) related to the development of transportation, site development, and stormwater improvement projects in Microstation OpenRoads
· Lead and coordinate design teams
· Lead preparation of final design plans, cost estimates and special provisions
· Develop memorandums and other written technical documents
· Manage design tasks and identify changes and risks
· Determine client requirements and contribute to the development of scopes, schedules, and budgets
· Provide guidance and mentor junior staff
· Utilize relationships with clients to achieve WSP's business development goals
· Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
· P.E. registration in Illinois or ability to obtain in 6 months
· 10+ years’ experience in transportation/civil engineering
· Good technical writing, analytical and communication skills
· Experience leading design tasks and managing junior design staff
· Proficiency in Microstation OpenRoads
· Ability to implement WSP's Quality Control Procedures
· Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
· Proven track record upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies
· The selected candidate must have the ability to work in the United States immediately.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience having led and mentored a team
· Experience in OpenRoads
· Leadership experience working with IDOT, CDOT, and other local agencies
· Business development experience
· Active member of local professional organizations
· Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
· Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
