Job Description
The Lead Commercial Contracts position will provide support to Global Procurement Category Managers as the single point of contact for contractual matters. They will partner with Risk & Security, Legal, Privacy and various other teams to structure Supplier contracts that comply with company policies, government specifications and other requirements to mitigate risk and ensure Sabre protections. Specific duties include -
+ Drafting, redlining, evaluating, and negotiating contract terms and conditions (indemnity, limitation of liability, IP, confidentiality, warranty, etc.) for technology contracts (Software/SaaS, Professional Service Agreements, Consultant Agreements, Managed Services, etc.)
+ Using agreed upon playbooks and tools – including leveraging and updating the Contract Management System
+ Articulating strategy and contractual language to mitigate risk
+ Ensuring contractual standards are met
+ Building productive internal / external relationships
+ Interacting effectively with internal stakeholders, Suppliers, Supplier Attorneys, and other external parties
+ Managing multiple projects concurrently
+ Demonstrating professional expertise
+ Applying company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues
+ Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
EDUCATION:
+ JD (Juris Doctor) degree
+ 7 - 9 years of complex contract negotiating experience and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
+ Drafting, evaluating, redlining, and negotiating contract terms and conditions. Experience with technology contracts a plus.
+ Ability to work effectively with peers around the world and across multiple cross-functional departments (legal, data privacy, risk & security, etc.)
+ Self-starter and able to juggle multiple priorities
+ Works openly and collaboratively
+ Ability to evaluate contract provisions and minimize risk via redlining (warranty, indemnity, liability, intellectual property, confidentiality, etc.)
+ Identify and explain contract risk
+ Ability to understand and write language that is clear, concise, and conveys intended meaning
+ Ability to problem solve with words
+ Able to function and perform at a high level with ambiguity in some cases
+ Ability to focus on details while managing to a bigger picture
+ Outstanding skills in MS Office suite
+ Experience with Coupa a plus
