Columbine Commons Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing facility is located at 1475 Main Street, Windsor, Colorado.  Our size makes us a very unique and intimate facility; each of our staff members gets to know each of our residents extremely well.

Lead Cook 

• Lead Cook job description:
  The Lead Cook prepares meals in accordance with the menu schedule; follows and helps to develop recipes, makes sure that all special diets and dietary concerns are followed; assists and directs the preparation of menu items; attends meetings when required; works with the dietary aides, cooks, dietary supervisor, other staff, and residents to provide food service in accordance with food safety and sanitation guidelines; and performs special duties as assigned by the Executive Chef. Lead and supervise a small culinary team, cook a variety of food, and drive production while maintaining a high food quality.

  Lead Cook requirements:
  Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language; intermediate culinary skills including scratch soups, sauces, meat fabrication, knife skills, basic baking, and a variety of cooking techniques; be in good physical and mental health; be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently. At least 3 years of culinary experience preferably in a high volume restaurant or banquet setting. Must be able, and have 1-year experience supervising and leading a small culinary team.

  Preferred candidates will have at least one of the following: an ACF certification, ServSafe certification, culinary arts degree, experience working in health care, or a desire to work with seniors.
