Lead Cook
A position responsible for directing a team of cooks to prepare culturally and developmentally appropriate meals/snacks according to applicable regulations and requirements within the HCS Head Start, Inc. program. Knowledge of USDA and CACFP programs and requirements. Ability to run a kitchen and work with a team of cooks.
Education and Certification Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- ServSafe Food Manager with MA allergen training certification required
Skills and Experience
- 3 years’ lead cook experience preferred
- 2 years of supervisory or kitchen oversight experience required
- Experience in both quantity and quality food preparation
- Experience with meal preparation for special dietary needs
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required
- Basic computer skills preferred
- A self-starter with the ability to multitask
Starting Pay: $20.92 per hour
Schedule: 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
