Position Overview: As a Lead Counselor, you provide leadership for other counselors. This also includes management of an individual caseload, participation in various facility committees and assists with problem solving, conflict resolution and readiness for State, CARF and other audits as required. You will partner with the Clinical Supervisor and Executive Director to establish and maintain a therapeutic environment for our residents.

Qualifications:
- Licensure as an CADC (certified drug and alcohol counselor), LCADC, LSW, LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), LAC, or LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)
- Bachelor's Degree and/or Certified Clinical Supervisor
- Must have minimum of five (5) years experience in substance abuse treatment of which two (2) years must be in methadone maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act on behalf of the Clinical Supervisor/Director in their absence.
- Assign cases to counselors.
- Meet with counselors individually at least weekly for the purpose of reviewing the status of their cases and at least quarterly for on-going supervision.
- Conduct/assist with weekly staff meetings with the counseling staff.
- Conduct/assist with ongoing review of counselor’s case files to ensure compliance with Federal, State and PTC requirements.
- Assist Clinical Supervisor/Director with annual performance reviews of the counseling staff.
- Participate in Treatment Team Meetings and Grievance Hearings as needed.
- Perform intakes on new patients.
- Provide counseling hours with each person on his/her caseload each month; group or individual per state requirements.
- Develop preliminary and comprehensive treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files on each patient on the caseload per Federal, State and PTC requirements.
- Participate in case planning and consultation with the facility director and/or the PTC physician as needed.
- Facilitate the interpretation of policies and procedures to be able to provide supervision in all clinical matters for staff and patients.
- Assist Facility Director as needed in the areas of state and CARF inspections, staff meetings and other areas as needed.
- Utilize the computer and related software for the daily functions of the position as necessary.
- Attend PTC and other meetings as required.
- Attend ongoing training per program/Federal/ State requirements.
- Provide assistance in ongoing, in-house training requirements.
- Maintain neat and clean work area.
- Perform other functions related to the position as required.
