Summary:
Our Enterprise Data and Analytics team is growing, and we're looking for an outstanding Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to join our team. At Huntington, you will leverage GIS tools, machine learning, segmentation, and statistical inference on huge data sets to improve how we understand our customers and the communities we serve. As we advance our data science and GIS analytics capabilities, we want experts in understanding complex business problems and discovering business insights using geographical, statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques. The GIS Analyst/Lead Data Scientist contributes to building and developing the organization’s GIS data infrastructure and supports senior leadership with insights, management reports, and analysis for decision-making processes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Help lead the data management pipeline and analysis for GIS Initiatives
+ Support network optimization routines, including branch and ATM placement/relocations, hub-spoke/cluster development, micro-market assessments, and merger-acquisition analysis
+ Apply geospatial analysis, modeling, machine learning, and visualization techniques to internal and external data to make accurate and actionable analyses in a timely fashion
+ Architect GIS analysis plans that help drive decisions across multiple areas of the bank
+ Perform and confidently communicate analysis and visuals that support strategic initiatives
+ Partner with line-of-business subject matter experts to perform spatial analyses and/or accurate reports/views
+ Plan and execute multiple analytic projects at once in response to business needs
+ Synthesize findings into senior level presentations that convey insights and recommendations through compelling storytelling, while maintaining a balance between the big picture and mastery of details
+ Drive innovation and continual evolution of the development, deployment, and prioritization of GIS solutions
+ Perform advanced analytics methods to extract value from data.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or related field
+ 5+ years of experience in GIS data management, analysis, visualization, and applications, including location analytics for site selection, geocoding, and automation techniques
+ 3+ years experience with Esri ArcGIS suite of products in a business environment – including ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Business Analyst, and Network Analyst
+ 3+ years experience with Python automation using the ‘arcpy’ library
+ 3+ years experience with R, RStudio, Python, SAS, SQL, NoSQL
Preferred Qualifications:
+ PhD in an applied quantitatively-oriented or computationally-oriented field such as GIS, Geography, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Operations Research
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels
+ Practical experience with creating GIS pipelines for regular reporting and map visualizations
+ Ability to connect ArcGIS and Python to large database applications such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, Hadoop, Snowflake and AWS
+ Practical knowledge of location analytics for retail distribution planning
+ Experience with other programming languages and analytic environments including R, Spark, SQL, Snowflake, AWS and others
+ Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise and with standing up a GIS Server with contractor or IT support
+ Progressive thinking and problem solving, with a strong ability to manage ambiguity/complexity
+ Ability to work effectively in teams as well as independently across multiple tasks while meeting aggressive timelines
+ Professional image with the ability to form relationships across functions
+ Up-to-date knowledge of data analytics tools and techniques and in predictive modeling methodology
+ Strong experience with Cloud technologies (e.g., AWS Sagemaker)
+ Financial services experience
