OVERVIEW
Ensures the efficient and economical organization of home-delivered meal routes as to maximize use of human and mechanical resources. Maintains inventory of food and supply items in storage unit. Oversees the maintenance and repairs of all vehicles and equipment used in the delivery of meals. Delivers the bulk food route and a small home route. Position may from time to time be stressful and require a high demand of performance. May perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ensures that all home-delivered routes are ordered according to the most efficient delivery route
- Coordinates and leads peer drivers in the execution of their duties
- Provides timely reorder requests to Kitchen Manager
- Accurately fills supply order requests from sites and kitchen
- Schedules timely vehicle maintenance procedures and repairs
- Maintains rapport with catering and program sites
- Assures that bulk food is delivered following safe and sanitary food practices
- Assures the return of all equipment, pans, and containers left at catered sites
- Maintains accurate and complete client information and route list
- Reports any changes in clients' physical or situational status following the established procedure
- Collects clients' initials to indicate receipt of meal
- Assures all routes are covered and substitutes for routes when necessary
- Adheres to safe driving practices as specified in the CCS Safety Policy
- Drives agency or personal vehicle on company business
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Suitable work experience may be considered as transferable skills in order to meet minimum requirements of the position and will be considered by the Executive Director of Human Resources.
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of supervisory experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of auto mechanics
- Work is typically performed while sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, or stooping; employee must be able to climb steps, carry objects, and sit for long periods of time
- Employee is frequently required to lift light and heavy objects, up to 10 pounds regularly and up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Work is typically performed while operating a vehicle; as such, employee may be exposed to dust, fumes, exhaust, various noise levels, various temperatures, chemicals, and contagious or infectious diseases as well as various outdoor weather conditions as required
REGULATORY
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid driver license, proof of insurance, and 39-month motor vehicle report
- Ability to obtain and maintain Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card and FBI National Criminal Records History Report (employer paid)
- Pass pre-employment drug screen (incudes marijuana, regardless of recreational use laws) (employer paid)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of county and community main routes
- Additional years of directly-related experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish, verbal and written
