We're seeking a seasoned Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Birmingham, AL team! This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to make a significant impact on a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead & manage the electrical engineering of multiple projects concurrently across all phases (concept, design, construction).
- Analyze existing electrical systems to define project scope.
- Delegate design tasks and calculations to support staff.
- Perform electrical design tasks, including:
- Low & medium voltage power distribution.
- Lighting & lighting control systems.
- Grounding system design & power studies.
- Utilize Revit for proficient design execution.
- Possess a strong understanding of project design, construction, design software, cost estimation, and scheduling.
- Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and attend construction meetings.
- Contribute to the development of business unit design standards and specifications.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution (required for licensure).
- Minimum 7 years of related experience in a professional services firm.
- Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC).
- Understanding of Arc-Fault/Arc-Flash studies and breaker coordination.
- Experience applying energy codes (IECC & ASHRAE 90.1).
- Proficiency in Revit and electrical design software.
- Proven ability to manage mid-to-large size projects from initiation to completion.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills across disciplines and teams.
Preferred Skills:
- PE License (not mandatory).
- LC Certification (a plus).
