About the Job
The general role of the Lead Electrical Field Technician – Electrical Services is to provide leadership and guidance to electrical personnel working on various industrial and construction projects. This position is a hands-on position and as such, provides physical labor and support to electrical personnel. This is considered a skilled position that requires construction knowledge and aptitude. Projects may include, but not be limited to the following industries and facilities: Construction, Manufacturing, Power Plants, Commercial, Aggregate, Oil and Gas, Factories, Production Plants, Coal, Solar, Wind Energy, etc.
This individual will have a thorough understanding of all aspects of industrial construction and must be proficient with the products and services offered by Beitzel Corporation. This position will require a flexible schedule with extensive travel and out-of-town work and the willingness to work extended hours to include weekends, holidays, evenings, and night shifts as needed.
What You'll Do:- Lead and preform electrical installations and troubleshooting
- Lead complimentary and supplemental industrial and construction projects that may involve the installation of concrete pours and finishes, building and preparing forms, rebar, masonry, block laying, pipefitting, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, rigging, excavation, ditching, trenching and general labor as required
- Communicate equipment and supply needs to the laborers as well as Operations Managers
- Prepare time and material (T&M tickets), receipts, and other paperwork as required by the job
- Answer calls and questions related to the job, other co-vendors and from other Beitzel personnel
- Respond in a timely manner to customer service needs
- Provide general and skilled labor to industrial trades and to various construction and industrial projects
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Provide detailed paperwork, and documentation to ensure accurate record keeping, billing and inventory when necessary
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicles in a professional manner
- Maintain and ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
- Lead and mentor Field Services personnel
- Work on-call and demonstrate commitment to the job and customer focus
- Provide ongoing feedback to management regarding personnel performance, production, and placement
Working Conditions
- Sit, talk, hear, read, and write
- Regularly walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms
- Kneel, stoop, bend, squat, and climb a ladder
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Work at heights up to 40 ft
- Work extended hours and potential shift work
- Work in confined spaces
- Work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
- Perform duties on-site and underground at industrial and commercial locations
- A minimum of (2) years of electrical experience and (4) years knowledge of Industrial Construction required
- Possession of OSHA 10 certification is preferred
- Preference given to candidates with their MSHA-WV Electrical License, Journeyman’s Electrical License, or Masters Electrical License
- State of West Virginia, Office of Miners’ Health, Safety & Training Certified Electrician preferred
- Demonstrated leadership and employee training abilities preferred
- Skillful in coordinating and prioritizing work
- Strong organizational and time managements skills
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately
- Practical knowledge of office procedures and customer relations
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Skill in dealing with the public in a manner which will facilitate constructive problem solving possible
