Role Overview:
As the Lead Energy Engineer, you will spearhead our energy auditing and building upgrade initiatives, focusing primarily on ASHRAE Level I and Level II audits within the first year; Level III audits can be expected periodically. Your expertise will be pivotal in the expansion of CGS's in-house capabilities as this division takes shape; equally as valuable, this is an opportunity to exercise creative license while leading a department and managing projects aimed at enhancing the building energy efficiency as part of a genuinely supportive team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive ASHRAE Level I and Level II Energy Audits to identify and prioritize energy-saving opportunities.
- Oversee retro-commissioning projects for lighting, HVAC, and other utility systems to ensure they operate efficiently.
- Analyze energy consumption patterns to recommend sustainable and cost-effective solutions.
- Manage and coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement energy efficiency measures.
- Prepare detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders, highlighting potential energy savings and ROI.
- Stay abreast of the latest energy efficiency technologies and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant energy standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong exposure to or hands-on experience conducting ASHRAE energy audits and managing energy projects.
- In-depth knowledge of energy systems, including HVAC, lighting, and other utilities.
- Familiarity with building codes, energy regulations, and green building certifications.
- Strong analytical and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to work remotely and travel as needed to client sites along the East Coast.
- A minimum of seven to ten years in Mechanical Engineering roles involving a mixture of utility/HVAC design, project engineering, and project management.
- Experience independently conducting Level I, Level II, or Level III ASHRAE energy audits
- Engineering In Training (E.I.T.), Professional Engineer (M.E., P.E.), or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) certification.
- Experience with energy modeling software and data analysis tools.
