Lead Flight Software Engineer
Overview

Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of flight software that meets strict standards of performance and reliability.
Lead a team of engineers in the design and deployment of flight software and to verify all software meets performance, security, and safety requirements.
Ensure all software is maintained under a rigorous configuration management process.
Conduct code reviews of all software changes to ensure best practices and code standards are met.
Collaborate with SMEs and stakeholders to ensure software requirements are met.
Support and participate in Software Engineering Board review meetings.
Code, test, integrate, and document software solutions.
Support integration tests.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Engineering, Math, or Physics, or relevant scientific Information Systems field, from an accredited institution.
10+ years demonstrated relevant software experience.
5+ years demonstrated tactical flight software experience.
Experience in Linux and Windows development environment.
Experience with Ada, C, C++, Fortran, and Python.
Self-directed and able to perform assignments independently under time constraints.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
A self-starter, team player with a desire to work with a team of engineers, integrators, analysts, and others in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and perform general office functions.
U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain required clearance.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
