Responsibilities

The Lead Medical Technologist (Lead MT) performs laboratory bench work and assists the supervisor/manager with day-to-day operations were assigned; and may act in a supervisory capacity in the absence of the regular supervisor or manager. The Lead MT monitors various medical laboratory analyses of patient specimens to provide accurate test results for confirming clinical diagnoses and treatment therapies. The Lead MT complies with regulatory requirements by following established procedures and protocols in order to maintain a safe laboratory environment and meet accreditation standards. The Lead MT works effectively as a team member within the department and with other departments to provide quality service through communication, cooperation, and collaboration.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Certification Requirements

• Bachelorrsquo;s Degree preferred in related field of Science, preferably from an accredited school of Medical Laboratory Technology.
• 3 years#39; experience as a Technologist or Laboratory Technician in a clinical laboratory setting.
• ASCP certification in MB (Molecular Biology), MT, MLS, or MLT preferred.

Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
