Location: Glens Falls, New York
Position: Lead Groundskeeper
Salary Range: $19.28 to $28.93 per hour (Based on experience and qualifications)
Overview:
Nesco Resource is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Groundskeeper to join our client in Glens Falls, NY. This role involves providing leadership for all assigned grounds and off-site maintenance activities to ensure an effective, efficient, attractive, and safe environment for all assigned facilities, including the exterior properties of the hospital and satellite buildings.
Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coordination:
- Coordinate the work of groundskeepers.
- Acquire necessary materials and monitor the quality of work performed.
- Train groundskeeping staff and ensure timely completion of assignments.

Grounds and Maintenance:
- Plan landscape designs, changes, and maintenance of plants, lawns, and outdoor areas.
- Perform and oversee all groundskeeping work, including offsite locations.
- Supervise and perform all snow removal activities.

Scheduling and Training:
- Work with and provide training and leadership to assigned staff for various tasks such as landscaping, painting, and vehicle operation.
- Coordinate with the Engineering Supervisor and Engineering Manager regarding the scheduling of grounds work.

Emergency Response:
- Be available 24/7 for emergency response, unless during a previously scheduled time off.
- Ability to work varied shifts and irregular hours during inclement weather.
Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Five or more years of progressive and successful experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, plant maintenance, or similar work functions.
- Proven mechanical ability to address equipment repair and maintenance needs.

Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
- Welding, small engine repair, and minor vehicle repair skills.
- Ability to identify and treat lawn, shrub diseases, and other landscaping problems.
- Skilled in landscaping methods, tools, and equipment.
- Good communication and customer service skills.

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Pesticide Application Certification (optional).
Team Impact:
- Provide training and leadership to assigned staff.
- Coordinate with supervisors and managers to schedule grounds work efficiently.
