The Post Oak Hotel is seeking a Lead Host/Hostess to join the only Forbes Five-Star Hotel in Texas. We hire passionate and professional colleagues who genuinely delight our guests through curated and authentic experiences.
The Lead Host/Hostess will be responsible for greeting and welcoming guests according to Forbes' standards for hotel dinning and reservations, providing exemplary introduction to the Bloom & Bee restaurant as well as leading the team of hostess in their role duties.
Responsibilities:
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of Bloom & Bee operation including private dining room, patio and, full restaurant buyout set up and capabilities as well as all Post Oak Hotel services
- Ensure all new hostess are properly trained in all restaurant standards, phone etiquette, booking reservations properly, and overall hostess role duities.
- Responsible for updating new menus and promotional menus
- Manage Open Table reservation system and maximize seating potential at all times as well as audit website for correct promotions and holiday verbiage.
- Assist restaurant events coordinator with inquiries and follow up emails inclusive of sending out informational emails for potential clients.
- Move and arrange tables, chairs, settings and organize seating for groups with special needs.
- Check menus to ensure they are current, clean, plentiful, and wrinkle-free. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
- Monitor dining rooms for seating availability, service, safety, and well-being of guests
- Be familiar with all standards of performance excellence, particularly relating to Forbes Five-Star service standards, and adhere to these standards throughout our guests’ experience
- Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications
Qualifications:

- 1-3 years of restaurant or hotel experience preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or a related field
- Previous hotel experience, luxury or Forbes experience preferred
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required
- Physical demands:
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance
- Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects weighing in excess of 50 pounds
- Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift
