Position Overview

The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for overseeing and participating in all aspects of cleaning and maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout our senior living facility. The ideal candidate will have leadership experience and a passion for providing excellent service to our residents. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to lead a team, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise and train housekeeping staff to ensure cleaning tasks are performed to the highest standards
2. Schedule and assign daily tasks, ensuring coverage for all common areas and resident apartments
3. Perform thorough cleaning of common areas, resident rooms, and administrative areas, including dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces
4. Inspect rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness and address any issues promptly
5. Order and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment inventory
6. Report maintenance needs to the appropriate department
7. Uphold health and safety standards, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
8. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
9. Respond to special cleaning requests from residents or staff
10. Assist with any deep cleaning or special projects as needed

Qualifications

1. At least two years of previous housekeeping experience required
2. A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred
3. Knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures, particularly in a healthcare or senior living environment
4. Strong communication and organizational skills
5. Ability to lead and motivate a team
6. Detail-oriented with the ability to spot cleanliness issues and take corrective action
7. Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
8. Friendly, professional demeanor and commitment to creating a positive living environment for residents
