General Summary
This is a Permanent, hybrid role where the candidate must be Covid vaccinated and willing to travel to Boston, Mass for team/vendor meetings.
Under general direction, responsible for planning and leading efforts to develop and implement operating systems administration projects. activities related to system administration. Assigns personnel to various projects, directs their activities, and evaluates their work. Ensures long-term requirements of systems operations and administration are included in the overall information systems planning of the organization. Responsible for the installation, maintenance, configuration, and integrity of computer software. Implements operating system enhancements that will improve and reliability and performance of the system. Represents ISD at project and organizational meetings. Responsible for project planning, documentation, and project budget.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs project management tasks, as required. Represents ISD at project coordination meetings to identify tasks and resources within ISD to support projects.
- Prepares project schedules, presentations, recommendations, RFPs, technical summaries, status reports, and other project management reports.
- Participates in the budgeting process for all services and hardware. Works with Purchasing to negotiate with vendors for hardware and services. Documents the cost of delivery of hardware and services.
- Reports project status to management on a timely basis.
- Meets with users to determine equipment and network needs. Research alternatives to satisfy those needs and makes recommendations for hardware, software, and networked protocols. Develops project plans and schedules for these projects.
- Writes and maintains batch files, system scripts, and applications for the Mac, PC DOS, Novell, and MS Windows 95/NT operating environments.
- Coordinates efforts of institutional technical and engineering groups to specify and deliver services for personnel work area needs as necessary.
- Performs product evaluations and develops implementation plans for new product rollout. Makes recommendations on network management tools and configurations, hardware platforms, application platforms.
- Works closely with the Desktop Specialists, Applications Team Leaders, Network Managers to resolve issues, and to set priorities and schedules.
- Stays current with technology. Evaluates and recommends changes to hardware, software, and services to further the mission of the institution.
Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job
- Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts typically acquired through completion of a bachelor's degree in computer science, or a closely related field, and at least six years' experience.
The ideal candidate must have 7 -10 years of Hyperion System Administration and development experience. This candidate must have worked with Workday as their ERP platform that integrates with the Budget system.
- Work requires the analytical skills to resolve problems that require the use of basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles.
- Work requires excellent communication skills to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues, and mediate fair solutions. Well-developed writing skills are required.
