About the Job
We are currently seeking a friendly, efficient Lead Line Cook to join our team at Coppin State University. As a Lead Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in preparing and cooking delicious and nutritious meals for the college community. You will train now kitchen staff on Proper preparation techniques, kitchen protocols, and safety standards.Delegate task effectively to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for culinary arts, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

- Prepare and cook diverse menu items following recipes.
- Manage a cooking station, ensuring timely ingredient preparation.
- Monitor food quality, adjust as needed, and maintain a clean workspace.
- Assist in inventory control, reporting shortages, and minimizing waste.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team, chefs, and dining staff for smooth operations.
- Proven experience as a line cook or similar role.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational abilities and the capacity to handle a high-volume setting.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
