Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Lead MRI Technologist who is ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certified to oversee our MRI team. The Lead MRI Technologist will manage daily MRI operations, supervise technologists, and ensure that all imaging procedures are conducted efficiently, safely, and with the highest quality. The ideal candidate will have both clinical expertise in MRI scanning and leadership experience to provide guidance and direction to the team. You will also collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure excellent patient care.
Shift: Monday-Friday 6:30am-3:00pm with Saturday rotation
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of MRI technologists, providing mentorship, training, and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform MRI scans on patients, ensuring high-quality imaging and patient safety.
- Oversee daily MRI operations, including scheduling, patient flow, and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with ARRT standards, facility protocols, and regulatory requirements (e.g., ACR, Joint Commission, HIPAA).
- Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare providers to assess and optimize imaging procedures and protocols.
- Train new staff and maintain ongoing education and competency programs for technologists.
- Assist with contrast agent administration when required, following proper safety protocols.
- Monitor and maintain MRI equipment, performing routine checks and coordinating repairs or upgrades as needed.
- Ensure patient safety by screening for MRI contraindications, such as implants or other safety concerns.
- Conduct quality control assessments and participate in improving imaging practices to enhance diagnostic accuracy.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient records and imaging results in PACS and other medical record systems.
- Provide technical expertise in troubleshooting equipment or procedural issues.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and provide support during multidisciplinary cases involving MRI imaging.
