Scope:
A Lead Developer / Scrum Master will lead the design and development of new functionality for customer facing self-service applications. They will facilitate the mentoring and development of junior developers and promote and improve established development and business processes. The Lead Developer / Scrum Master will also promote the adoption of industry and company standards. They will work within an agile work-stream, may function as the scrum master. They will help set and manage working priorities for junior developers, quality engineers. They will work with the business analyst(s) on the scrum team to design, develop and test software.
Under direction of the Manager of Application Development the Lead Developer / Scrum Master will participate in application design, framework architecture, development, unit testing, code reviews, and implementation activities. They will be responsible to correct coding errors and may be asked to provide root cause analysis. The Lead Developer / Scrum Master will estimate efforts for new requests, help to evaluate development resources, and provide updates to management on progress throughout the development cycles (sprint).
Although the Lead Developer / Scrum Master will primarily be working on technologies in the Microsoft .NET technology stack, they will also be working in other supporting systems such as Sitecore, Omniture and other industry tools. The Lead Developer / Scrum Master can expect to write code 10-30% of the time, with the remainder spent on software design, code and technology reviews, mentoring, and administrative and management functions.
This is a demanding and fast paced role. Ability to adapt and work calmly and optimistically under pressure is important.

- Ensures team priorities match the business priorities and determines whether the technology team can meet business expectations.
- Works with business analysts to refine requirements
- Works with quality assurance engineers to ensure test coverage
- Develops and presents solutions to enterprise and distinguished architects
- Ensures solutions are well engineered, operable, and maintainable.
- Make certain that projects are on schedule or communicates accurately and often if otherwise.
- Tracks and documents requirements for enterprise development projects and enhancements.
- Monitors current and future trends, technology and information that will positively affect organizational projects. Applies and integrates emerging technological trends to new and existing systems architecture.
- Mentors team members in relevant technologies and implementation architecture
- Develops, documents and ensures compliance with best practices including but not limited to the following coding standards, object oriented designs, platform and framework specific design
- Work with Developers and Architects to develop detailed designs and write code.
- Support an internal team of developers, designers and test engineers.
- Support Business Partners, Requirements, System Testing, and Production Support teams
- Contributes in other technical capacities as required
- Excellent communication skills
- 8+ years software development experience
- 5+ years' experience using Microsoft .Net technologies
- 3+ years developing enterprise scale web applications
- 1+ years as a lead developer within an agile team
- Understanding of the role of a Scrum Master (experience in role preferred)
- Proficient with data and modeling in the .NET Framework, especially regarding communication services (LINQ, WCF, XML, rest)
- Experience leading complex web projects in a corporate environment
- Strong experience with AJAX, JQuery
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Design Patterns
- Strong SQL Server experience
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Excellent skills in emotional intelligence, influencing, and persuasion with individual and group stakeholders.
- Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
- Experience in Cable / Telecom is a plus.
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related disciplines; extensive, directly-related experience may be considered in-lieu of degree(s).
