Position Overview
WhirlWind Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Lead Network Engineer who will be responsible for senior-level management and maintenance of the Telecommunications Office (TCO) Networking environment and computer system
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Duties include but are not limited to:
- Translates technical and/or non-technical requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for complex Network systems, solutions, and integrating architecture.
- Evaluates communication hardware and software; troubleshoots LAN/MAN/WAN and other network-related problems
- Provides technical expertise for performance and configuration of networks
- Performs general LAN/MAN/WAN administration
- Provides technical leadership in the integration and test of complex large scale computer integrated networks
- Schedules conversions and cutovers; oversees network control center; supervises maintenance of systems; coordinates with all responsible users and sites; and supervises staff.
- Designs major Network solutions; coordinates work on subsystems; oversees the integration of new network devices; which increases efficiency and/or reduce costs
- Investigates new procedures, equipment, and appliances to determine their usefulness and applicability to operations
- Assists systems management in developing systems analysis standards and provides consultative direction to Infrastructure designs, Network engineering and planning and scheduling of projects.
Education
- Minimum BS/BA degree in related field (or equivalent years of experience)
- Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification preferred
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of related experience, 4 of which must be in a supervisory role.
- Oversight of daily upkeep and administration of the network infrastructure and computer systems.
- Responsible for the design, planning, implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the company's network infrastructure and architecture.
- Designs and implements voice, data, and transport systems.
- Applies advanced troubleshooting and problem solving to complex network problems.
- Collaborates with others for active maintenance and future growth.
- Sets establish best practices for active maintenance and future growth.
- Has the aptitude to perform troubleshooting, testing, scripting and coding, and demonstrates leadership.
