Lead Neuroscience Technician – Full-Time - Days - Cornell Campus

The lead neuroscience technician is responsible for performing the testing duties of a Neuroscience Technician II and oversee the daily operations of the laboratory. Their responsibilities include ensuring patient safety and comfort during procedures, managing data, billing, providing training to Clinical Neurophysiology technologists, and serving as a resource to physicians and other technologists. This involves managing scheduling, quality, supplies, and equipment. Lead Neuroscience technicians must be capable of conducting Routine and Ambulatory EEG studies, all Evoked Potentials (EP), and Nerve Conduction Velocities (NCV) studies in various patient settings such as inpatient, outpatient, interventional units, and critical care units, covering all age groups. An opportunity to see a full range of complex cases in adults and pediatrics at a prestigious academic hospital.
This position is full-time, shift: Monday to Friday 9a-5
Preferred Criteria
- Minimum of 5+ years of EEG technician experience post internship and demonstrated ability to meet department competencies.
Required Criteria
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or graduation from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic technology training program (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Accredited) OR graduation from an American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) approved Electroneurodiagnostic (END) training program.
- Three (3) years of EEG and/or Evoked Potential studies and demonstrated ability to meet competencies of the department
- BLS Certification
- American Board of Registered Electroneurodiagnostic Technologists (ABRET) registry eligible
- Must possess an advanced knowledge of normal and abnormal EEG patterns and a working knowledge of abnormalities in diagnostic EEG and Epilepsy monitoring studies.
- Knowledge of applicable computer operating systems and software (MS Office and Natus XLTEK).
- Perform these studies on patients of all age groups, including neonates (Collodion).
- Ability to work in all inpatient care settings (general, ICU, and emergency departments).
- Proficient in data management including pruning, merging and medical records protocols preferred.
