About the Job
Do you have at least one year of hands on caregiving experience on overnights? Are you wanting to step up and use your leadership skills as well as care giving skills? Do you have a vehicle and able to travel between locations throughout the night? Then The Geneva Suites has a perfect opportunity for you as a Lead Care Partner with us.
Shifts Available: Full-Time - 7p - 7a three (3) days a week with rotating 10p-6a shifts as well as rotating weekends.
Wage Range: $20.00 - $22.00 (DOE & certifications)
Support you'll have as a Lead Care Partner:
- Nurses are available for support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- House Managers and Operations Manager to guide and support you
- Regularly scheduled training to help you grow in your career
Care Partner Qualifications:
- 1 year of NIGHT care giving experience
- Ability to take initiative and use sound judgement in high pressure situations
- Love to care for others
- Previous caregiving experience - preferably in an Assisted Living setting
- CNA/HHA certification preferred but not required
- Dependable and able to work a consistent work schedule that includes every other weekend
- Able to read/write and communicate effectively in English
- Patient with others
A day in the life of a Lead Care Partner:
- Be the point person for calls of assistance from Care Partners while on your shift
- Ensure all staff report on time and if not follow-up to ensure staffing coverages are maintained
- Provide guidance and training to new night care partners who join the care team
- Help each resident reach and maintain the highest level of independence and abilities while assisting them with personal care and daily living activities (ADLs) such as shampooing of hair, showering/bathing, dressing, grooming, etc.
- Assist with treatments as delegated by the Registered Nurse per residents care plan including medication administration
- Take and record vitals (temperature, blood pressure, weight, pulse and respiration) as instructed
- Monitor and report changes in resident symptoms, behaviors, and conditions (both physical and emotional) to nursing team
- Document services performed and observations during shift in our electronic charting system (rTasks)
- Engage with residents - reading, talking, activities, looking through photos, etc
- Keeping the home clean and safe (sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, laundry)
- Report any issues with equipment or maintenance needed in the home
- Knowledge of emergency procedures
