Lead Packaging Process Engineer - Technical Source

Technical Source is currently in need of a Lead Manufacturing Packaging Engineer to lead the design, validation, and implementation of new packaging lines in the greater Philadelphia, PA area. This role requires a deep understanding of process validation, change management, and packaging system design. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing the complexities of starting up new lines and implementing changes to enhance packaging processes.

Responsibilities of the Technical Writer include:

• Packaging System Design:

  Develop and design innovative packaging systems that align with product specifications and production goals. Optimize packaging processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall product quality.

• Process Validation:

  Lead the process validation efforts for new and existing packaging lines, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  Develop and execute validation protocols, including IQ/OQ/PQ, to guarantee the robustness and reliability of packaging systems.

• New Packaging Line Startup:

  Oversee the startup of new packaging lines, including equipment installation, testing, and troubleshooting.

  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of new packaging systems.

• Change Management:

  Manage change initiatives related to packaging processes, including the implementation of new technologies and procedures.

  Facilitate communication and training to ensure smooth transitions and adoption of changes within the manufacturing team.

• Continuous Improvement:

  Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in packaging processes and systems.

  Implement best practices and drive initiatives to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.

• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to align packaging solutions with broader manufacturing objectives.

Provide technical support and guidance to resolve packaging-related issues and challenges.

Qualifications of the Technical Writer include:

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in packaging engineering, with a strong background in process validation and leading the packaging line startup.
• Proven experience in designing and optimizing packaging systems and managing change within manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to packaging and process validation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across various teams.

   

  Qualifications of the Technical Writer include:

• Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
• Experience with advanced packaging technologies and automated packaging systems.
