GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB
To ensure a superior level of customer service; to supervise location in the absence of the location manager or assistant manager; to maintain the quality of merchandising and product presentation within the location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide excellent customer service
- Direct personnel in their daily tasks as assigned by the location management
- Ensure personal stays on task
- Develop and work with employees to their potential
- Supervise in the absence of the location manager or assistant manager
- Approve returns and discounts in the absence of the location manager or assistant manager
- Ensure a clean and safe working and shopping environment
- Communicate with location management and personnel
- Ensure that signing, displays, and safety concerns are addressed and corrected
- Perform opening and closing procedures
- Approve the morning counts on register tills
- Offer assistance and support to location personnel
- Perform other tasks and duties as requested by supervising manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has supervisory responsibilities over location personnel in the absence of the location manager or assistant manager.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to work calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and guidance
