This includes self-performing design work, design reviews, and supervision and coordination of designers and subcontracted engineering.Must be the technical leader for assigned engineering projects including responsibilities such as: schedule development & updates, value engineering, planning & tracking project design reviews, and quality control/quality assurance. Responsible for the design requirements, power single line drawing, plan and elevation drawings, general substation arrangement and layout, detailed drawings, raceways (tray, conduit, trough), auxiliary power design, construction sequencing, and the application of high voltage bus, cable, high voltage equipment, cable, grounding, and control buildings.On a large & complex project manage a combined project BOM & MDL from multiple sources, writing and/or reviewing HV technical specifications, & supporting sourcing for vendor quotationsAccountable for the performance of all engineering subcontractors, supported by the Project Manager. This includes work scope definition, hours used, change management, quality control, schedule definition & adherence, and customer interface. Single point of contact for technical issues for the customer and project manager.Co-located in an open combine office space with customer and major project subcontractors. In-office presence required as part of this assignment.Support Engineering manager in assigned project team maintaining billable hours.Direct the efforts of engineers and designers, coordinating with sourcing and the project team on technical matters to meet project specifications, cost control, and schedule objectives.Will be accountable for team results in order to deliver a high quality product to customer CTQ’s on time and on or under budget.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a accredited UniversityMinimum of 5 years experience in industrial or utility HV & EHV substation design (power)Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% locally in the New York City area to support field operations.Desired Characteristics:Professional Engineering license in the U.S.Working knowledge of applicable design calculations such as battery sizing & DC system component selection, power transformer and circuit breaker selection, circuit protection, control and power cable selection and rating, bus, fittings, insulator, and arrestor selection, ground grid design, and lightning protectionEffective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work in a team environment.The Project Engineer must be creative, able to lead a team and be accountable for team results in order to deliver a high quality product on time and under budget.Experience with 3D CAD systemsKnowledge of wind generation plants, including onshore and offshore windLarge project experience working with Interface Coordinators and LCI ManagementKnowledge of and experience using IEEE & ANSI standards and codes such as the NEC and NESC. Moreover, ability to engineer design packages when no clear customer specification is provided.Field-testing and commissioning experience with safe work habits. Good presence in front of the customer with demonstrated commercial experience such as Project ManagementExcellent personal computer skills, including programming and design automation, and familiarity with AutoCAD/MicroStation strongly desired.We deliver integrated project solutions to enable large scale electrification and support our customer needs.*This position is on-site in Brooklyn, NY.The salary range for this position is 112,300.00 - 149,800.00 - 187,200.00 USD Annuall
The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location
In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus
