The opportunity:
Lavender is currently seeking an experienced Lead Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide clinical leadership for our team of psychiatric nurse practitioners and work in collaboration with Lavender’s Care Concierge and Clinical Leadership teams to ensure high-quality client care and an optimal client and NP experience.
The lead NP role enhances Lavender's clinical standards, client experience, operations, and NP retention. The ideal lead NP candidate is skilled in clinical decision-making, comfortable with managing other NPs, open-minded, and flexible.
Telehealth is an ever changing setting and as such, the roles and responsibilities outlined below are subject to change.
Responsibilities:
Clinical responsibilities include:
- Oversee prescription fulfillment requests and send prescriptions on behalf of NP colleagues as needed to avoid interruptions in care
- Oversee clinical escalations and ensure full resolution of all client issues, including direct client outreach
- Appointment coverage as needed for NP colleagues when they call in sick or have an emergency
- Participate in care coordination for clients who are hospitalized or experiencing a psychiatric emergency
- Act as a liaison between the Concierge team and clinical staff to resolve things like complex care matters or client complaints
- Ensure handoff of ongoing client concerns
Leadership and management responsibilities include:
- Leadership and support for an assigned team of psychiatric nurse practitioners. Including but not limited to:
- Complete onboarding check-in sequence with new NP’s
- Perform monthly face-to-face check-ins with direct reports
- Regularly monitor performance of direct reports and conduct quarterly and annual performance conversations
- Review clients of concern list on regular intervals and provide constructive feedback and remediation planning
- Complete bi-annual chart audits
- Create performance improvement plans as needed in consultation with direct reports and follow-up accordingly
- Attend required interdisciplinary meetings
- Share expertise and suggestions for process improvement
- Participate in quality and process improvement projects
- Mentor new graduate NPs as needed
- Participate in the hiring process by conducting NP candidate interviews
The candidate:
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN)
- ANCC Board Certification
- 5+ years of experience working in adult mental health
- Healthcare leadership experience, including direct supervision of a large clinical team
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Ambitious, client-centric work ethic
- Open minded and flexible attitude- startup experience preferred
