Lead Real Estate Accountant
McLean, VA -Hybrid Monday and Tuesday in office
Duration: 3 Months
Potential convert to full time
Interview Process: 1 interview onsite
Job Family: Accounting/Finance
Hours: M-F 8-5pm
Pre-Screening Questions:
Do you have experience with Commercial Accounting? if so please describe:
Resource's typical working day: Working with a team of 2 other accountants overseeing commercial properties
• Journal entry prep and Review
• Cash analysis on a weekly basis
• Ad hoc reporting needs
• Reviews and/or creates real estate accounting transactions and the production of the various resulting financial
reports and statements.
• Understands client requirements and ensures consistent, accurate and timely reporting.
• Prepare and oversee all aspects of advanced level financial statement packages, including creating and posting
journal entries, ensuring cash receipts and expense payables are recorded for the period, preparing and
submitting funding requests.
• Partners with the field and Account Management teams to ensure requirements and terms of the client's
Years of Experience needed:
4+ Years of Experience in Real Estate Accounting is required (Commercial Accounting is preferred)
Level of Education: Bachelor's Degree
Systems/Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office Suite and Yardi experience is required
Certifications/Licenses: n/a
Top Must have Skills:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
• Ability to effectively present information.
• Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues
Top Nice to have Skills:
• Commercial Accounting experience
• CPA
