SUMMARY
Performs a variety of retail store clerical functions including merchandising, display of items, sales and customer assistance. Provides back-up to Store manager as needed for the calculation and completion of weekly store deposits; prepares weekly deposits and completes store reports in the Store Manager's absence as requested.
Reports to the Store manager if any consumers with disabilities experience access obstacles and/or other shopping inconveniences.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Takes the lead with merchandising and display of merchandise, to include furniture galleries, clothing/shoe displays, books, etc. Keeps displays in proper order. Assists in maintaining store fixtures to be compliant with all A.D.A. requirements.
- Participates actively in special sales and/or promotional initiatives.
- Assists customers with special inquiries. Treats the public in a courteous, cheerful and tactful manner, at all times.
- Maintains sales records, weekly reports, etc. as needed.
- Prepares weekly deposits, as needed.
- Performs regular retail duties, to include operation. Balancing and close out of cash register. Dealing with customers and program participants alike in a respectful manner. Ensuring signs and prices are readily visible. Answering phones and assisting customers.
- Assists with the completion of necessary forms, such as Unusual Incident Reports, maintenance requests, customer requests, etc. Ensures required documentation is submitted timely.
- Ensures the facility is cleaned daily, including bathrooms, sweeping and mopping where needed, display cases and tables, etc. Ensures that the store is kept in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Performs other essential duties as requested or required by the Store Manager or the Director-Retail Sales/Operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervises tasks of sales associates in the Store Managers absence. Ensures staff follow task schedules as issued by the Store Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school graduate or equivalent certification preferred. Prefer at least six months experience in a retail store environment, however, willingness to learn on-the-job will be considered adequate.
