Job Summary
The Lead Service Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on various types of roofing systems. This role requires a hands-on individual with excellent problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of roofing techniques and materials. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Role and Responsibilities
- Roofing Installation and Maintenance:
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on residential and commercial roofing systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot roofing issues, providing effective and efficient solutions.
- Install roofing materials and systems as needed, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Conduct emergency repairs and leak investigations to prevent further damage.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed in Dataforma to include materials used, scope of work and time spent on each job by the end of each day.
- Report all customer complaints to the Service Superintendent and Manager to avoid any issues.
- Professionalism:
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain the nature of the work and answer any questions.
- Interact with colleagues, clients, and partners with respect, courtesy, and a positive attitude. Your demeanor should consistently reflect the company's commitment to professionalism and excellence.
- Be on time for all shifts and ready to go at the assigned time with all personal tools and PPE.
- Follow the company’s dress code and ensure your appearance is clean, neat, and suitable for the work environment.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Assist in setup and tear down of safety equipment as instructed.
- Complete required safety training such as fall protections or OSHA.
- Report any safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
- Quality Assurance:
- Ensure high-quality workmanship and attention to detail in all roofing projects.
- Conduct quality inspections to verify that roofing systems meet established standards and specifications.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Maintain and care for roofing tools, equipment, and vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to your supervisor promptly.
- Have all personal tools required for your job such as hammer, knife, prybar, tape measure, neoprene roller, trowel, etc.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with other team members, including Coordinators, Crew Members, Superintendents, Service Manager and Contractors, to complete projects on time and within budget.
- Mentor less-experienced crew members.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and clients to coordinate project activities and ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proven experience as a Roofer or Roofing Mechanic, with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Know all roof types and membranes such TPO, EPDM, Slate, Tile, PVC, PMMA (coatings), etc.
- Ability and comfort working at heights and in various weather conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and roofing equipment.
- Able to handle at least 50lbs
- Ability to work flexible hours and be on call, including weekends, as needed.
- Drive to learn and grow within the roofing industry.
Preferred Skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Flat, Sheet Metal, slate and/or tile experience.
- First Aid/CPR
- OSHA10 or OSHA30
- Computer skills
