The ARCHES Project is searching for a Lead Site Assistant to join their team! The Lead Site Assistant will provide direct support to sheltering services for the homeless population at ARCHES shelters in Polk and Marion counties. Responsibilities include supporting daily operations, including cleaning and laundry services, clerical duties, data collection & entry, assisting clients with navigation to resources, answering client questions and other special projects as needed. In addition, The Site Assistant III will also be responsible for training and updating Site Assistants and volunteers on applicable policies and procedures and exercise strong decision-making skills while providing leadership when urgent matters arise while management is not available or on site.
There are multiple vacancies for this position. This position requires the availability to work days, nights, weekends and/or holidays as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required of this position.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) plus 2 years of experience in customer service, social services, or other client-facing role, and at least 6 months of experience in a leadership role.
Preferences given to applicants who have experience working with people experiencing homelessness or at-risk of becoming homeless; and/or work experience with the public in a healthcare or community services setting.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Driver Qualification Status required for this position. Valid driver's license, satisfactory drive record for previous three years and insured vehicle available for use on the job.
Candidate must pass pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screens.
Candidate must pass a comprehensive MWVCAA background screening prior to employment.
Food Handler's Card, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated proficiencies in Microsoft Office (including Outlook), videoconferencing platforms, and web tools.
Exhibits a positive attitude and engages with others in a cooperative and supportive manner.
Demonstrates tact, diplomacy and empathy when communicating formally and informally with clients, staff and program partners.

Serves as primary point of contact for respective shift.
Trains incoming staff members and volunteers on applicable duties, processes, and policies. Answers questions and aids coworkers as needed.
Facilitates communication and collaboration between Site Assistants and volunteers.
Focuses team toward primary program goals and exemplifies the positive culture.
Ensures data collection and quality. Inputs service usage information into the Health Management Information System (HMIS) and Shelter point.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Regulates emotions during interactions with escalated clients and staff.
Regulates emotions and handles pressures of frequent demands for attention, time and work tasks.
This position requires the ability to move between areas of the building, speaking, hearing and visual abilities.
Multiple shifts may require variable work schedules between day, evening and night which requires the ability to adjust to various work schedules and/or rotational work.
Requires the physical ability to be driver qualified to transport supplies and clients as needed.
Work time will encompass periods of sitting, standing, walking, and a variety of office work that requires ability to read, write, and type, and occasionally lifting 20 and sometimes 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Close quarters, often with a client population experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, and/or severe and persistent mental illness, and/or unpredictable behavior.
Indoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands.
Variable and flexible work hours, including weekends.
Occasional exposure to biohazards requiring use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as gloves, masks, eye protection, protective clothing and shoes or boots.
Ability to accept on-call work, frequently with short notice (for example, same day for a call-out).
