Lead Software Engineer - Platform development
Snap-on Diagnostics, a division of Snap-on Inc., is looking for a Lead
Software Engineer to be part of the platform development engineering
team in Lincolnshire, IL, USA. Our team is focused on product design and
development of automotive diagnostic test equipment for the automotive
service market.
Position description
The lead software engineer position will require a broad understanding
of system design with Windows, Android, and embedded operating systems.
Experience in real-time system architecture and implementation of data
acquisition and data processing designs. The ability to work
independently and with team members for software design and development.
Experience in documenting software designs and performing design
reviews. Experience leading projects and managing technical resources.
Experience in problem solving, investigate to root cause and implement
corrective actions to resolve production and field failures.
Qualifications
Education: BSEE or BSCS or 5+ recent years of Embedded with real-time SW
design, development and debug experience
Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in Software design,
development and debug of real-time systems.
Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and debug software written in C, C++, and Assembly
language
Visual Studio software development experience
Application development for Windows, Linux, and Android systems
Design, implement, and debug software for real-time applications
Assume responsibility for development and maintenance of project
schedules
May assume project management responsibilities for selected projects.
Assist with development and execution of applications validation and
testing.
Independently, or through team leadership work with cross functional
team members from other divisions including engineering, manufacturing
and marketing.
Experience defining and establishing design constraints and resolving
conflicting requirements.
Provide technical counsel and assistance to less experienced employees.
