As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking & Operations Technology, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job responsibilities
+ Be the lead engineer on building out a new application from the ground up with the latest technology stack at the firm.
+ Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems.
+ Drives innovation and engineering excellence when solving engineering problems.
+ Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
+ Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems.
+ Holds themselves to high engineering standards and feels ownership in their work.
+ Ensure quality and completeness of the product through unit, component testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing capabilities.
+ Coaches, trains and inspires junior and intermediate software engineers in modern software best practices and both public cloud adoption.
+ Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.
+ Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
+ 5+ years' experience with Java/Springboot backend development, design and architecture.
+ 5+ years' experience with event-driven architecture, microservice-based system design.
+ 5 + years' experience with React or related frameworks.
+ 10+ years' experience with delivering technology solutions.
+ Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
+ Experience leading development, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages.
+ Experience across the whole Software Development Life Cycle.
+ Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
+ Emerging knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
+ Ability to coach and mentor junior engineers.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ 3+ years' experience with AWS Public Cloud development, design and architecture, including migration of applications to a public cloud environment.
+ Write effective API's.
+ Strong knowledge and experience on Testing Automation, such as BDD, Cucumber, etc, as well as strong knowledge and experience on build pipeline, such as Jenkins, etc.
+ AWS Developer or Solutions Architect certified.
