Position Overview:
We are seeking a Lead Sonographer - Diagnostic for our client, located in Burlington, VT, 05401.
The Lead Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound exams and other required modalities within the department(s), ensuring high-quality imaging under physician supervision and with peer collaboration as appropriate. In addition to clinical duties, the Lead Sonographer provides leadership and management to the sonography team, mentoring and educating staff at all levels.
Compensation:

Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnostic Imaging: Independently perform diagnostic ultrasounds and related imaging modalities under physician supervision, ensuring accurate and high-quality results.
- Leadership: Manage and lead the sonography team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to all staff members.
- Education: Mentor and educate staff at various levels of expertise, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Administrative Duties: Allocate a minimum of 8 hours per week for administrative responsibilities related to the management of the department and staff.
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with physicians and peers to ensure all imaging services meet departmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- 8 years of experience in diagnostic medical ultrasound.
- Active ARDMS registration in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduate of a certified CAAHEP school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, or a two-year allied health equivalent with extensive on-the-job ultrasound training.
- Active ARDMS registration in Abdomen, OB/GYN, and Vascular is required. Candidates with registration in two out of these three areas are also welcome to apply.
Work Hours:
- Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
- Rotations: Participation in holiday and weekend rotations is required. Weekend shift times may vary from standard weekday hours. While not currently required, call duty may be assigned in the future as needed.
