- Position Summary
- Oversees and assigns work for CSD technicians engaged in cleaning, sterilizing, packaging and distributing patient care instruments and supplies and transportation aides.. Ensures availability of supplies and instruments. Assists with training and regularly performs work of CSD Technician as needed and is proficient in all areas.
- Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: High School education preferred. Requires general educational development necessary to deal effectively with others, to train employees in technical procedures and to read, write and perform arithmetic calculations in order to complete required reports and records.
- License/Certifications: National Certification is required within 1 year of starting job.
- Experience: Requires knowledge of area procedures and advanced skill in and knowledge of sterilization techniques and equipment troubleshooting, and ability to organize others, at a level normally acquired through two to three years related experience.
- Physical abilities necessary to walk and stand almost constantly and to lift instrument packs and supplies packages weighing up to twenty-five pounds occasionally
- Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to assign and oversee work of (six to ten) employees and internal and external customers.
