Our client is seeking a
Lead Structural Engineer
In
Glen Rose, TX
to serve as the primary Project Engineering Manager representative, acting as a field liaison between the client and the engineering group. This role involves providing engineering management, project leadership, and overseeing day-to-day activities to ensure successful project execution. The Lead Structural Engineer will work under the supervision of a Project Director or above and will consistently demonstrate the ability to proactively identify and solve potential project challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a field liaison between the client and the engineering group
Provide engineering management and guidance to staff, enforce company and project policies
Manage work activities to ensure successful project execution while adhering to safety, quality, schedule, and budget requirements
Supervise and delegate tasks among staff, monitor day-to-day activities
Proactively identify potential project challenges, analyze issues, and develop optimal solutions
Demonstrate knowledge of resources and capabilities of other groups within the project organization
Understand the scope of work and contract requirements relevant to their area of responsibility
Support or conduct formal status reporting and presentations to the client and/or management
Must-Haves:
Nuclear experience
in a U.S. operating plant
PE License
required
Must be a
U.S. Citizen
or
Permanent Resident
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
from a four-year accredited college or university.
Professional Engineering (PE) License
is required, with the ability to obtain a PE in Texas.
10+ years of relevant experience
with industrial steel and concrete design for heavy industrial facilities.
Must be able to obtain
unescorted access
within a nuclear power plant.
What We’re Looking For:
BS Engineering Degree
from an accredited university with coursework in energy conversion and power systems
PE License
in any state, with the ability to be licensed in other states by Comity
Passed
Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
exam
Experience working in a U.S. nuclear power plant
Must be able to obtain and maintain
unescorted access
at a nuclear power plant
Experience working in a
Project Team
environment
Preferred Requirements:
MS in Engineering
, with a focus on power systems
Field experience, including
walk-downs
on power projects
Electrical and/or Instrumentation Controls Engineering
background
Experience developing
Engineering Design Modification Packages
for nuclear power plants
5 years of experience
in structural modifications and evaluations at commercial nuclear power plants.
Existing
Design Engineer qualifications
at a commercial nuclear power plant.
Familiarity with
nuclear standards and guidelines
.
NANTeL Certified
in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
Field experience at an operating nuclear plant.
