Cambridge International Systems, Inc. has a full-time Lead Systems Engineer opportunity available based in Charleston, SC, with an opportunity to travel to locations worldwide. Qualified candidates for this job must possess a current DoD TS security clearance.
ROLE RESPONSIBILTIES
Qualified candidates require hands-on familiarity with various engineering modeling, simulation & requirements management tool suites. You will be responsible for systems engineering associated with complex US DoD systems over their development life cycles using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) toolsets and methodologies. Activities include using MBSE methodologies for operational/functional flow analysis, requirements gathering and gap/integrity analysis, system architecture development, and high-level system design.
In addition, you will participate in Engineering Quality Assurance and Quality Control peer reviews and constant capabilities development to ensure implementation of quality systems.
- Engineering domain experience and understanding of current/future DoD military systems in all military programs.
- Proficient in customer need analysis, operational analysis including CONOPS, use cases, and decision flows; system functional analysis, project scope definition, requirements gathering and development; and architectural analysis to include system architecture viewpoints and interface definition.
- Technical leadership in conducting customer meetings, engineering data gathering activities with SMEs requires a positive relationship with peers and customer technical community members.
- Perform as a peer with the client’s Systems Engineering team creating, developing, and executing MBSE solutions and technical related tasking.
- Provide systems engineering guidance and recommendations to leadership.
- Work with stakeholders to address system reviews, issues, defects, and vulnerabilities.
- Assist Government clients in the capture and translation of mission and customer requirements/needs into systems/capability requirements and solutions.
- Assist Government clients in strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management and interface design.
- Conduct requirements engineering, scheduling, reliability, development, and evaluation, maintainability and analysis for training.
Required QUALIFICATIONS
- Must possess an active DoD TS security clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI.
- 8 years of experience with a BS degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- 4 years experience with MS/MA degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience in DoD engineering role, consulting engineering preferred.
- Logistics support of RF communications, audio visual, networking, and electrical facility projects.
- Experience in utilizing MBSE tools to assess operations, requirements, architectures and designs.
- Understanding of Navy C4I Systems, surface ship systems, submarine systems, and/or air platform systems.
- Working knowledge of design software, to include: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and MS Office.
- Ability to plan, assign, direct and review the work of subordinates and provide instruction in a manner conducive to improve performance and morale.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to direct employees, prepare reports for upper management and facilitate/disseminate information.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment that requires handling multiple tasks at a given time and rapidly adapting to changing priorities and schedules.
- Must be proficient in using different technologies such as computers and other tools and systems pertinent to the position.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
- Active Passport.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- In some occasions, overnight travel may be required.
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Cambridge International Systems complies with Temporary Duty Station (TDY)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) vaccination requirements. If this position requires OCONUS travel (listed above), Vaccine Recommendations by AOR | Health.mil lists out applicable current vaccination requirements by location.
- Must be able to work in an office environment, sitting at a desk, looking at a computer for most of the workday.
- Work is physically comfortable; the employee has discretion about sitting, walking, standing, etc.
- May be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site.
