Position: Lead Teacher
Location: 1214 New Loudon Road, Cohoes, NY 12047
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Teacher to join our team at our newest location, Tiny Town of Latham! The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for students, developing and implementing age-appropriate curriculum, and effectively managing a classroom of students.
Lead Teacher Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lessons that promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of students
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and respected
- Establish and maintain open and effective communication with parents, colleagues, and administrators
- Monitor and assess student progress and communicate with parents about student achievements and areas for growth
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide initiatives and programs
- Supervise and support assistant teachers and classroom aides
- Attend staff meetings, professional development opportunities, and other school events as required
Lead Teacher Qualifications:
- Degree in is Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with young children in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
- Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods and best practices
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Passion for working with children and fostering their growth and development
