If you answered YES, we are seeking a dedicated Lead Teacher to join our Child Care team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for them to thrive.

Duties

Under the direction and supervision of the Child Care Coordinator, the Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning, development and implementation of all curriculum and program activities in the classroom. The Lead Teach guides the development of children, ensuring a safe, enriching and healthy environment.

• Provide attentive care to children in a safe and supportive environment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate curriculum & activities to stimulate children's development.
• Create and maintain a structured daily schedule.
• Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
• Monitor and address children's individual needs and behaviors
• Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and changing as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized childcare space

Requirements

The Lead Teacher at the Lakota Family YMCA Childcare Center must be able to administer & discharge his/her responsibilities in accordance with the goals, policies and objectives established by the State and Lakota Family YMCA

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Must pass a background check.
• High School/College Diploma.                                                                                                           -
• Holds an updated CDA (Child Development Associate) is a plus.
• Must be flexible, reliable, loving, trustworthy, energetic
• Can work as a team
• Must stay up to date on all ODJFS requirements CPR/First Aid, Child Abuse.           
• Communicable Disease & 6 hours of Professional Development training yearly.

Expected hours: 40 per week
