Lead Teacher - Grand Avenue Preschool and Daycare

Grand Avenue Preschool in Western Springs is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead Teacher for our Pre-K classroom.

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a CDA or at least 6 ECE college level credits. A plus if you have previous lead teacher experience! 

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm

Compensation:  $18 - $20/hr. based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for the supervision of school age children and meeting the daily physical, emotional and social needs of the children in their care. 
• Responsible for driving children to and from school and occasionally for classroom field trips.   
• Arrange Lesson Plans and curriculum on a weekly basis in coordination with the monthly theme and that meet the developmental needs of the children and that meet the expectations of SACERS (School Age Care Environmental Rating Scales).  
• Responsible for establishing a professional level of communication with each family member to provide quality care for each child.  On-going communication in all aspects relating to the children in their room with the parents and the Center Director is crucial for quality care. 
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs. 
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role. 

• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
