We are currently hiring for energetic, qualified Preschool Teachers to provide a safe, fun and educational environment for our early learning center participants. Primary Responsibilities:
- Provides a quality experience to children and parents that focuses on the YMCA values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith.
- Implements curriculum within the established guidelines.
- Organizes and leads activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development, such as games, arts and crafts, music, and storytelling.
- Establishes and enforces rules to promote positive behavior.
- Attends to children's basic needs including supervising meal times, playground times and free play.
- Conducts parent conferences, and maintains positive relationships and effective communication with parents. Engages parents as volunteers.
- Maintains required program records.
- Attends and participates in family nights, program activities, staff meetings, and staff training.
Qualifications
Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED, a CDA or CDA equivalent, and have completed MODS (Introductory Child Care Training, Parts 1 2). 6 months to one year pre-school teaching experience required. Knowledge of outdoor activities and school based programming preferred. Must be able to interact with toddlers and young children for an extended period of time both indoors and outdoors. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend and reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Pre-employment drug test and background check required.
Monday – Friday, 30-35 hrs/week; 10.00-$14.00/hr commensurate with experience.
