This OpportunityWSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Tunnel Engineer for our Los Angeles, California office
Be involved in projects with our Geotechnical & Tunneling National Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your ImpactLead tunnel & shaft design on major underground projects involving TBM tunneling, underground structure design and construction Perform engineering analysis for design of tunnels in soft ground, mixed conditions, and rock using various tunnel construction methods such as TBM, SEM, including temporary/initial support and final liningPerform numerical analysis using FLAC/FLAC3D, PLAXIS/PLAXIS 3D or other software such as Visual ModflowInterpret geotechnical and geological data, characterize ground conditions and derive engineering parameters.Prepare GBR, GDR, and various design memosPrepare contract Documents including drawings and specifications.Coordinate with other disciplines and clientsWho You AreRequired Qualifications7-10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical, tunneling and structural engineeringB.S
in Civil Engineering (Preferred M.S.in Geotechnical or Structural Engineering)Professional Engineer registration in CaliforniaProven experience in design and analysis of tunnels and shafts under seismic loadingsKnowledge with tunneling/structural/geotechnical software (Plaxis, FLAC, ADINA, RS2/3, etc.)Practical experience in preparing contract drawings, specifications and cost estimates of tunnel projectsAbility and willingness for travel, field work, and work at project siteExcellent verbal and written communication skillsWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career

Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $140,000 - $160,000WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location
