As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Cloud Foundational Services (CFS a part of Infrastructure Platforms - IP) , you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver database related technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a software engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud-based database solutions on AWS. You will leverage your expertise in Python, AWS, Terraform, and CI/CD techniques to ensure robust, scalable, and efficient systems. Your deep understanding of computing will be essential in optimizing our infrastructure and processes.
Job responsibilities
+ Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
+ Develops secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
+ Identifies opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems
+ Leads communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies
+ Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
+ Design, develop, and maintain scalable database solutions on AWS.
+ Utilize Python for automation, data processing, and application development.
+ Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform to manage AWS resources.
+ Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployment processes.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
+ Optimize system performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on cloud-based solutions
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
+ Strong proficiency in Python and experience with AWS services (e.g., RDS, Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, KMS, Step Functions, ECS, EKS ).
+ Expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
+ Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker, AWS CodeDeploy).
+ Observability with Cloudwatch / Grafana / Splunk / Datadog
+ Good knowledge of computing concepts, data structures, and algorithms.
+ Experience with database design, optimization, and management.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills.
+ Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, API design, application development, software testing, security and operational resiliency.
+ Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
+ Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
+ Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
+ In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
+ Practical cloud native experience
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification.
+ In depth knowledge of Terraform or Cloud Formation (IAC)
+ Strong Python and software engineering experience.
+ Advanced software testing skills
+ Experience in DevOps and working in an Agile environment.
