Lean Manufacturing Engineer - Judge Group

The Manufacturing/Industrial Engineer is responsible for identifying waste and implementing the most efficient production methods. This individual will work as a team to coordinate the activities necessary to improve the overall efficiency of existing processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Work with a team of engineers and problem solvers to achieve department goals.

·         Identifies areas of unnecessary waste and drive efficiency improvements for the department.

·         Develops and updates process documentation and procedure instruction.

·         Conducts direct labor studies using acceptable engineering practices and establishes labor standards on operations, set up, and workstation layout. Defines tooling and fixturing used in the manufacturing process, while also assisting with ideas for specialized processes. Analyzes and evaluates manufacturing methods and standards.

·         Provides solutions to problems that adversely affect safety, quality, productivity and cost Work closely with other engineering groups such a Design, Assembly, Tube fab and Paint. Recognize current production problems and provide feedback to the team and direct feedback to design engineers.

·         Reviews and evaluates manufacturing costs pertaining to make vs. buy decisions. Drive lean culture.

·         Performs other assignments as requested.

·         Works to minimize down time to production, during improvement projects and model year changes.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE

·         B.S. in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing engineering required or relevant technical degree.

·         3+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience in a fast-paced production environment preferably in the automotive industry

·         Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Excellent verbal and written skills required Proficiency with PC's and Microsoft suite Strong Project Management skills
