Position Summary:
Bay Area Community Resources seeks an innovative and experienced Learning and Development Director to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for molding BACR’s internal talent through strategic learning initiatives and fostering an environment conducive to continuous growth and capacity building by implementing comprehensive learning and development opportunities.

Requirements

- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for conveying ideas, instructions, feedback, and reflection. Proficiency in creating engaging learning content.
- Instructional Design: Understands the broader landscape of informal education, understands adult learning cycles and styles, has a firm grasp of cognitive development, and create a safe learning environment where employees support and motivate each other as they reach their learning goals.
- Problem-Solving: Proficient in identifying challenges in learning and development processes and devising effective solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Capacity to analyze data related to employee performance, learning outcomes, and training effectiveness. Ability to use data insights to drive improvements.
- Proven Track Record: Proven work experience in this or a similar role, such as a manager or director in talent development or organizational development for the whole organization, with overarching responsibility for an organization’s learning strategy.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic plan for learning and development that aligns with BACR organizational goals. This involves assessing current competencies, identifying skill gaps, and forecasting future needs.
- Training Program Development: Design, develop, and oversee creative, engaging, and high-quality training for our employees across all levels, operations, and work locations, both in person and virtually. Programs will include onboarding, leadership development, and compliance training.
- Talent Development: Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development and develop career paths for employee advancement. Promote an organizational culture that values continuous learning and professional development.
- Collaboration with Leadership: Work closely with program and department leadership to understand their training needs and tailor programs accordingly. Provide consultation, advice, and coaching to leadership and work closely with People & Culture and people leaders to prioritize and coordinate efforts for efficiency and impact.
- Technology Integration: Leverage modern learning technologies and platforms to enhance the accessibility and effectiveness of training programs.
- Evaluation and Feedback: Continuously assess and improve learning programs based on feedback and performance data to ensure maximum employee participation and engagement. Use various assessment tools to measure learning outcomes and adjust programs as needed.
- Budget Management: Manage the budget allocated for learning and development activities, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maximizing the impact of allocated resources.
