Job Title: Learning and Development Specialist
Location: McLean, VA (only 1 day onsite)
Employment Type: Ongoing Contract
Pay Rate: $25 - $35 per hour
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Learning and Development Specialist to join our team in McLean, VA. This role will be responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of learning and development (L&D) programs. The ideal candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills, is passionate about talent development, and thrives in a collaborative environment. This is an ongoing contract position offering a competitive hourly rate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of L&D initiatives, including workshops, training sessions, and other learning events.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to organize training content, materials, and logistics.
- Act as a point of contact for participants, answering questions and providing guidance related to L&D programs.
- Coordinate training logistics, including scheduling sessions, booking rooms, managing attendance, and tracking training materials.
- Support virtual and in-person training delivery by setting up and testing AV equipment, preparing materials, and providing technical support as needed.
- Track and report on training attendance, completion, and evaluation metrics to support continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of all L&D activities, participant information, and feedback data.
- Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other tools to update training content, enroll participants, and generate reports.
- Assist in creating communication materials and sending reminders to participants.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Education, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Prior experience in learning and development, training coordination, or a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with LMS platforms.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with e-learning tools and technologies.
- Experience with data collection and analysis in L&D contexts.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and best practices in training.
