About the Job
This is a part time (up to 25 hours per week) position.
SCOPE OF WORK: Performs general library duties relating to the academic resource functions and services to students, faculty, staff, administration and the public at Nashua Community College. This position reports to the Director of Library Services at Nashua Community College.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assists in all areas of Library Learning Commons operations as needed; assists students, faculty, and visitors with basic reference and resource questions.
- Proctors students taking Accuplacer placement tests.
- Sets up students to test in the Testing Center, assists with scheduling of the Testing Center and processes student paperwork before and after testing sessions.
- Uses library system to circulate books and materials to the College community and the public as needed.
- Prepares materials for interlibrary loan; processes materials and assists with inventory as needed.
- Circulates laptops and other technology to students and staff.
- Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school or G.E.D. equivalent.
Experience: One year of clerical experience including customer service, preferably within a library setting.
License/Certification: None required.
RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS: Knowledge of correct English usage, spelling and vocabulary. Ability to understand and follow instructions and to learn related clerical and library tasks within a reasonable time. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other library personnel and with the public. Must be willing to maintain appearance appropriate to assigned duties and responsibilities as determined by the agency appointing authority.
