Job Summary and Qualifications
The Learning Technology Administrator position provides technical administration and support for learning technologies used at HCA for Graduate Medical Education (GME). This position provides recognized knowledge of product features, functionality and utilization of products. This position collaborates with business partners to meet training objectives for initiatives that are projected to deliver business value. This position communicates detailed product functionality or changes, identifies and escalates significant issues, and ensures the products meet specified requirements. Primarily, this position is responsible for maintaining the technical structure for the HealthStream Learning Center, HCA’s Learning Management System. This position serves as a resource in supporting the programs within the HCA GME portfolio by performing a variety of activities related to successful educational programming.
- Collaborating with Director of GME Education to develop and implement GME’s eLearning strategy.
- Maintaining advanced facility hierarchy and import files in the HealthStream Learning Center (HLC) including complex customizations and translations to improve structure and maximize benefits.
- Maintains contracts with HealthStream for utilized services.
- Serving as point of escalation from business users to Client Support Services and HealthStream. Oversee system support, customer support, incident resolution, and issue escalation procedures. Independently handling advanced technical, administrative and coordination support for issues related to the HLC. Manage issues escalated to the vendor if applicable.
- Partnering with the vendor to maintain advanced data integrity, manage course content and technology-driven components of the LMS environment (system, interfaces, data feeds). Providing hands-on expertise to independently resolve service delivery or functionality issues with a product, frequently communicating with end users and vendors. Advancing the Quality Assurance process for hosting of new online courses in the HLC. Manage and implement advanced business maintenance requirements for courses in production including resolution of course issues, discovery of new configuration requirements and the configuration of constituent applications. Oversee deployment of changes into production.
- Providing advanced, independent consultation to business owners on system processes and the use of functionality for enterprise training initiatives. Leverage specialist-level knowledge of product functionality to contribute and determine requirement definition activities, including initial development and deployment of training initiatives and ongoing activities.
- Subject matter expert for HLC technical structure and procedures for related projects. Continually mature advanced understanding of how business owners/practitioners utilize the product(s), by maintaining strong relationships with business partners and product users.
- Working independently with corporate, division, and facility personnel to coordinate the implementation and ongoing support of systems. Interfaces directly with a wide variety of end-users and technical counterparts in other facility, division and corporate roles. Focuses on advancing and ensuring customer satisfaction and optimal utilization of HealthStream’s platform and services. Serves as the customer’s advocate within the HealthStream operating environment by championing their ideas, issues and needs.
- Representing the product manager on projects, contributing advanced knowledge of product features and functions, and working with software vendors, business users, and product development peers to understand new product features. Contribute expert-level product knowledge to trainers, documenters and testers.
- Ensures system scalability and stability by developing and enforcing HCA/GME policies, processes, and reporting. Maintain timely and professional written and verbal communications with faculty members, content experts and other related partners.
- Collaborating in vendor evaluations for products that are projected to deliver significant business value, require infrastructure changes, or present significant technical or operational risk. Apply a proficient understanding of how GME utilizes the product(s), by maintaining strong relationships with the business partners and product users.
What qualifications you will need:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited program providing training in a related field and a minimum of seven (7) years of professional experience in managing learning management system
Expert-level experience with eLearning develop tools/authorware and basic HTML coding skills
- Expert-level experience at hierarchy management for a Learning Management System.
- Knowledge of eLearning standards such as SCORM
- Ability to model values of the organization.

- Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven skill in managing customer expectations.
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent collaboration, facilitation, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
