BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As an ESC Leave of Absence Specialist, you’ll provide consultative support across the company for all leave of absence programs, inclusive of federal, state and local leaves. You’ll serve as an internal consultant to the business, proactively liaise and leverage external resources (vendors, consulting partners, industry associations) and internal partners (HR) to assess and enhance existing processes, protocols, and programs. WHAT OUR ESC LOA SPECIALISTS ENJOY MOST
- Administering leave programs and policies in accordance with applicable federal and state employment laws (FMLA, ADA, USERRA, Pregnancy Discrimination Act, etc.)
- Overseeing all aspects of leave programs and vendors
- Collaborating with workers' compensation claims adjuster, medical professionals and legal counsel to support return-to-work or restricted duty
- Partnering closely with HR on all escalated leave cases, accommodations and workers' compensation claims
- Meeting regularly with HR to review claims' status and develop strategies for resolution
- Making recommendations to HR in support of the interactive ADA process and the individual assessment of each ADA accommodation request
- Acting as a liaison between business stakeholders, employees and third party administration vendor
- Providing leadership in the integration and implementation of complex programs, services and/or initiatives within the Leaves team
- Partnering with Benefits Team on changes to Charter’s policy and plan design to improve LOA program and the administration of the plans
- Ensuring compliance with applicable government regulations
You’ll serve as the subject matter expert for the leave programs in alignment and under the general direction and guidance of HR leadership; seldom are two days the same.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPECTRUM
Required Qualifications
- Experience: LOA and/or ADA experience in a large complex organization 3+ years
- Education: Bachelor´s degree HR or related field or equivalent experience
- Technical skills: Working knowledge of leave administration, including FMLA and ADA. Demonstrated knowledge of Employment Laws related to Leave of Absence. Knowledge of FMLA, ADAAA, Benefit Administration, Corporate HR and enterprise business
- Skills: Demonstrated analytical skills to compile and interpret data for reporting purposes. Demonstrated presentation skills. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. Demonstrated computer skills, especially spreadsheets, databases and word processing (i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Abilities: Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. Can maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards. Can provide quality service to internal and external customers. Can work in a team environment or individually while handling multiple projects/tasks. Can prioritize and organize effectively in a fast paced environment. Can work with time-sensitive issues and to be self-directed with minimal supervision. Can make independent decisions relating to daily operations
- Travel Ability: Office work environment. Travel 10%
- Schedule: Can work a flexible schedule including extended business hours, weekends and holidays
