Everstaff is seeking a Legal Assistant for a reputable law firm in the Minneapolis area.
This role requires someone who can effectively prioritize the workload for busy attorneys and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing correspondence, documents, and agreements, including document comparisons, PDF manipulation, editing, and scanning
- Electronically filing litigation pleadings and other documents with state, federal, and appellate courts at local and national levels
- Managing docketing for court scheduling orders, briefing schedules, and other mandated litigation deadlines
- Maintaining electronic client files, including pleadings, indices, and original documents
- Reviewing, editing, and finalizing attorney and paralegal time entries, as well as managing client invoices
- Providing general administrative support, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, handling routine correspondence, and making reservations
- Delivering excellent customer service to clients, attorneys, and colleagues
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and see assignments through to completion
- Excellent grammar and proofreading abilities, with a focus on detail and accuracy
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor and a strong work ethic, including reliability and accountability
- Ability to work well in a team and under pressure, particularly with court deadlines
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with FileSite electronic documentation
- Preferred: at least two years of experience as a business litigation legal administrative assistant in a law firm
- Must be able to use office equipment, such as computers and phones
- Requires extended periods of sitting and computer-related activities
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds may be necessary
